The veteran B.C. Lions wide receiver hails from Johnston, Pennsylvania and has proved to be quite an internet savvy guy. He writes a blog at www.geroysimon.com and he's also on twitter @geroysimon.
24 hours: So how'd you get started with Twitter?
#81: Geroy Simon: The guy that does my website suggested that I do it, and I was pretty hesitant about it. Now that I do it, it's kind of fun to put out what I'm feeling. Sometimes I want to write something that's a little more explicit, but sometimes you got to hold back.
24: What's so attractive about a tool like this?
#81: It's a social networking media type thing where you can get out and see what the stars are doing, what regular people are doing, so it's pretty cool. I try to tweet at least once a day, sometimes I get happy with it and get going.
24: You also have a blog going on your website, how's your writing?
#81: I've never thought of myself as being a decent writer. Sometimes I like to blog and it's pretty cool. It definitely gives you an opportunity to connect with [fans] and they can see what you're kind of about off the field. I think I'm going to try to get more into blogging about other sports and other things.
24: You've been with B.C. for nine seasons now, do you see yourself retiring in a Lions jersey?
#81: I hope so. That's my goal, I love B.C., the fans here have embraced me, and the organization has embraced me, and I'm looking forward to finish my career here in B.C.
24: Having been here for quite some time, you know by now that Canadians love their football, but they also love their hockey. Are you a fan of the game?
#81: I am. Obviously I grew up a Penguins fan, I wasn't into hockey that much, and now that being in B.C. in Canada, I know a little more about hockey so I'm definitely drawing closer to be a bigger and better fan.
24: The NHL season started [last night] what are your predictions for the Canucks and for the Pens?
#81: I'm pretty sure the Penguins are going to make the playoffs and have a great season. Hopefully, the Canucks can make the playoffs and maybe the Stanley Cup.
24: Is your dream finals the Canucks versus the Penguins then?
#81: That would be awesome. I can go to games here and in Pittsburgh.
