Football

24 seconds with Ricky Foley

By 24 HOURS

The defensive end has been a major part of the Lions' D-unit this year, with his league-leading 11 sacks so far this season. The fourth overall CFL draft pick from 2006 is in his fourth season with B.C. and already has career highs in tackles and sacks.

24: Let's start with your tattoos. How many do you have in total?

#95 Ricky Foley: I don't know. There's kind of two really big tattoos but probably somewhere around 30.

24: When did you get your first one?

#95: When I was 17, I think. I got a cross on one side and my initial on another. Now that they are all together in one, it all flows together and it all has a deep meaning to me. It's all based on family and God.

24: You grew up on a farm in Courtice, Ontario. Do you miss living there?

#95: Yeah, I do. Football and living downtown now is a lot of hustle and bustle, and there's a lot of stuff to deal with mentally. When you go back to the country, it's just animals and you just get some peace and quiet and you just get some down-to-earth old-fashioned people.

24: Heading into the season, did you expect to be the current sack leader in the CFL at all?

#95: I expect myself to play well but it was my goal to lead the league. I'm not really that satisfied, I think I should have had a lot more then I did.
