Colts still perfect - barely

The Indianapolis Colts kept their unbeaten record with a 20-17 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday when Kris Brown was wide to the left on a potentially game-tying 42-yard field goal attempt.

The win was the 17th consecutive regular season triumph for the Colts, who have started the current season 8-0.

In other games yesterday:

- The Atlanta Falcons (5-3) disposed of the visiting Washington Redskins (2-6) by a score of 31-17, powered by RB Michael Turner's 166 rush yards and two TDs on 18 carries.

- The visiting Arizona Cardinals (5-3) ruined the hometown Chicago (4-4) Bears' home party with a 41-21 shellacking thanks to QB Kurt Warner's five TD passes.

- The hometown Cincinnati Bengals (6-2) jumped to an early 14-0 lead and beat the Baltimore (4-4) Ravens 17-7.

- QB Tom Brady led his New England Patriots (6-2) to a 27-17 victory over the visiting Miami Dolphins (3-5).

- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-7) humiliated the visiting Green Bay Packers (4-4) by a score of 38-28 to earn their first win of the season.

- The hometown Jacksonville Jaguars (4-4) edged out the Kansas City Chiefs (1-7) by a score of 24-21.

- The Seattle Seahawks (3-5) rallied from a 17-point deficit to win 32-20 over the visiting Detroit Lions (1-7).

- QB Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints (8-0) extended their undefeated record, knocking off the visiting Carolina Panthers (3-5) by a score of 30-20.

- The San Diego Chargers (5-3) won a wild 21-20 decision over the New York Giants (5-4).

- The Tennessee Titans (2-6) claimed just their second win of the season with a 34-27 victory over the hometown San Francisco 49ers (3-5).
