Michael Grabner should probably start packing his bags for Manitoba.
With a lacklustre showing this preseason, it will take a surprising turn of events for the Austrian forward to find himself on the Canucks opening night roster.
The 21-year-old right winger, who was drafted 14th overall by Vancouver in 2006, entered training camp with plenty of expectations but has recorded zero points and is a minus-one in four exhibition games so far.
Having been given ample opportunity to prove himself, Grabner has disappeared, and is dropping fast in the organization's prospects system, behind the likes of Cody Hodgson and the injured Sergei Shirokov.
Coach Alain Vigneault said that the team will cut down to about 30 or 32 players by this Friday, but he did not mention whether or not Grabner specifically will be re-assigned.
The Canucks will play their sixth preseason game against the San Jose Sharks at home tonight (7:00 p.m. PT).
