- THE BUZZ: Still searching for their first win this season, the Canucks hope to turn things around when they host the Montreal Canadiens for their lone visit to Vancouver this year.
- DOWNER: Fingers are being pointed at goalie Roberto Luongo, with his 4.55 GAA and .820 save percentage, but he is not the only one to blame. Defence bears some responsibility with numerous odd-man rushes allowed Monday. With only one player sporting a positive plus-minus rating (Christian Ehrhoff, plus-one), the mistakes on the D need to stop.
- GOOD AND BAD: What's more surprising? The Canucks' 0-3 record or Willie Mitchell leading the team in points? Vancouver also have three players amongst the top four NHL shots leaders prior to yesterday's games, but no one has scored more than once on this team.
- AV TALK: "In the games that we have played so far, if we would have been able to make the opposition pay a little bit more for [their mistakes], we might be 3-0. We're sitting here [at] 0-3. Is our game that far off? I'm sorry, it's not, and I'm confident that we're going to prove it real soon," said coach Alain Vigneault.
- CHANGES: Although Vigneault will not confirm lineup changes for tonight, Tanner Glass practiced alongside Kyle Wellwood and Steve Bernier yesterday while Mason Raymond moved up to the second line. This leaves rookie Sergei Shirokov as the odd man out.
