During Tuesday’s game vs. the Wings, Ryan Kesler came within a streched out pad of becoming the leading candidate this season for goal of the year.

His speed we knew about, but it’s those talented hands that just might be the NHL’s best-kept secret.

While Luongo’s on the shelf for the next few weeks, make no mistake about it, this will be Kesler’s team. After snapping his stick in a fit of rage over his knee Sunday, he showed me just how intense his compete level is.

It’s emotions like this that go a long way in inspiring the rest of his teammates to raise the passion

in their own game.

When it’s all said and done isn’t that the true definition of leadership
