Back from a break

By HOSEA CHEUNG

- THE BUZZ: A struggling Avs squad - with four losses in their last five - head into GM Place tonight looking to redeem themselves from the drubbing they received last weekend at the hands of the Canucks, who are well rested after a five-day break.

- LAST MEETING: Led by three goals from Henrik Sedin and two from Steve Bernier, Vancouver routed the Avalanche 8-2 last Saturday in Denver. The Canucks haven't played since, while Colorado defeated Calgary 3-2 on Tuesday and lost 6-4 to the Oilers on Wednesday. So far this season, the Canucks lead the series 2-1.

- ROSTER: The Canucks lineup will remain the same as the one Alain Vigneault put on the ice last Saturday. Although Daniel Sedin skated yesterday, he is doubtful and a return Sunday against Chicago seems more likely.

- S LU BACK? Ever since his return from injury last week against St. Louis, Roberto Luongo has put together a 1-1 record with a 2.26 G.A.A. and a .924 save percentage. However, in 26 career games against Colorado, the Canucks goalie has an 8-15-3 record, with 74 goals allowed, the most out of any NHL team he's faced.
