Canucks in New Jersey, Giants stay home
By HOSEA CHEUNG
* The Canucks flew to New Jersey yesterday to get ready for their Wednesday matchup against the Devils. It's the team's first Eastern swing of the season. * The Vancouver Giants got three goals from Kevin Connauton and four from Brendan Gallagher in their two wins against Prince George this weekend. The two victories move them into first overall in the Western Conference with 39 points. They'll have three home games this week before heading on the road to play Chilliwack next Sunday. * As for the Bruins, they lost 2-1 to Kelowna last Friday and beat Kamloops 3-0 the night after, maintaining their sixth place position in the West. Chilliwack will close out their seven game homestand with three more games this week against Kootenay, Calgary, and Vancouver. * A 2-1 week by the Abbotsford Heat puts them fifth in the West, as they look to gain ground on the fourth-place Manitoba Moose, who only have two points more with the same number of games played. The Heat will close out their road trip in Toronto tonight before returning home to take on Rochester in back-to-back games. |
