- THE BUZZ:
The only meeting this season between the Canucks and the Devils tonight will feature a highly-anticipated goaltending matchup between Roberto Luongo and Martin Brodeur.
- LU VS. BRO:
The last time these two goaltenders met, Luongo came out on top, shutting the Devils out 5-0 at GM Place, but Brodeur has been the hotter goalie so far this season. Currently on a 9-2-0 streak, the New Jersey goaltender had a 1.67 GAA and a .939 save percentage in the month of November.
- STANDINGS:
With such strong goaltending, the Devils are in a familiar spot with a 17-6-1 record that's amongst the five best overall in the league. On the other hand, Vancouver's 14-12-0 record has them sitting 11th overall in the West prior to last night's games.
- ALL IS WELL:
Kyle Wellwood seems to be finding his scoring touch once again after his empty-netter three games ago. Against the Sharks on Sunday, he scored on a 2-on-1 before assisting on Jannik Hansen's late tally, giving Wellwood four points in three games.
- UP NEXT:
Last season, New Jersey scored two goals in the first four minutes against Jason LaBarbera, who was eventually pulled in favour of Curtis Sanford, en route to a 5-3 win at GM Place.
