MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens president Pierre Boivin will confirm the resignation of general manager Bob Gainey at a 4 p.m. press conference on Monday, according to persistent rumours.
Local radio station CKAC has already announced Gainey’s departure while sports television network TSN reveals Pierre Gauthier will step in as the Habs new general manager.
Gainey has been at the helm of the Canadiens since 2003.
