Lightning strikes at GM Place

By 24 Hours

THE BUZZ

It’s down to the Sunshine State for the traveling Vancouver crew as they visit ex-Canuck Mattias Ohlund and the Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday at St. Pete Times Forum.

NO DEMO

Olympian Pavol Demitra reportedly returned to Vancouver for personal reasons Monday. There’s no word yet on when he’ll return with four games left before the Olympic break.

EYE ON 2010

Although Vincent Lecavalier, Martin St. Louis, and Steven Stamkos all failed to make Team Canada, the Bolts are sending four to the Olympics: Ryan Malone (U.S.), Ohlund (Sweden), Andrej Meszaros (Slovakia), and Antero Niittymaki (Finland) will be representing their respective countries.

LAST MEETING

It’s been a while since the Canucks have won in Tampa, dating back to 2002 in a 5-3 victory. Last season, Vancouver took the only matchup, winning 2-1 at GM Place.
