It was a case of feast to famine for Team Canada as they began the second round of Baseball's World Cup.
Canada, which outscored their first-round opponents 43-2, managed just one hit the entire game in an 8-0 loss to the U.S. yesterday at Reggio Emilia in Italy.
San Diego Padres prospect Cory Luebke held a no-hitter until the second out in the eighth inning. IT was at that point that Chris Robinson singled to break up the no-no.
The only other Canadian baserunner was Adam Stern who managed to draw a walk off Luebke. Luebke struck out ten, missing the team record by one punch-out.
Luebke more than he needed int he first when they scored four times against Canadian starter Chris Begg.
