Tiger Woods' caddie, Steve Williams, says reports that his boss plans to return to the PGA Tour next week are dead wrong.
“The stories stating Tiger will return at the matchplay have no truth to them,” Williams told Australia's Sydney Morning Herald.
The Melbourne Herald Sun reported last week that Woods would play in next week's Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona.
Meanwhile, London's Daily Mirror - citing sources - claims Woods' wife, Elin, has decided to give the world's No. 1 golfer a second chance.
The paper said she made the decision after meeting doctors at the clinic treating her 34-year-old husband's sex addiction.
"The doctors told her she shouldn't underestimate Tiger's ability to learn coping skills and grow as a person," the Mirror quoted a person who claimed to be a close friend of Mrs. Woods.
"She has been convinced by the professionals that there is hope - and this isn't lawyers or businessmen giving her advice, it's doctors. And they say he has made remarkable progress."
Another report - this one from TMZ.com - says Woods intends to make his comeback at the Tavistock Cup, a non-Tour event which is scheduled to take place on March 22 and 23, at Isleworth near Florida.
The tournament would serve as a warm-up for the Masters, April 8-11, in Augusta, Ga.
