The Vancouver Whitecaps have found a replacement for Wesley Charles.
Shaun Pejic, 26, joins the Caps from York City FC, which plays in the fifth level of British soccer. The six-foot-two, 185-pound Hereford, England-native inked a deal to play the rest of 2009 and an option for 2010.
Charles was released in July after a training tiff with fellow defender Jeff Parke. The Whitecaps host the Carolina RailHawks on Saturday.
