Kljestan too much for TFC

By STAFF

U.S. international Sacha Kljestan had a goal in each half to lead Chivas USA to a 2-0 victory over Toronto FC in a Major League Soccer game in Carson, Calif.

Kljestan opened the scoring in the 32nd minute during a chaotic scene off a corner kick. His second goal, in the 51st minute, was a strong strike that beat Toronto FC goalie Stefan Frei cleanly.

Carl Robinson was wearing the captain's armband for Toronto FC in the absence of Jim Brennan, who was suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards. Robinson faces the same suspension for TFC's next game, in Seattle on Saturday, after picking up a yellow card in the 34th minute.

D.C. United, one of the teams challenging TFC for a playoff spot, drew 0-0 with the LA Galaxy last night.
