Nolly the goalie sticking around

By BOB MACKIN

Goalkeeper Jay Nolly is back for a third Vancouver Whitecaps' season and could stay for the 2011 jump to Major League Soccer.

Nolly - who played played every minute of the 2009 season - inked a one-year deal with an option yesterday. The 27-year-old spent three seasons in MLS with Real Salt Lake and D.C. United.

Nolly joins seven other players who also have one-plus-one contracts. Head coach Teitur Thordarson signed a one-year extension on Monday.

The club is on the verge of signing Georgian Zourab Tsiskaridze. The 2009 USL runners-up are moving to the new North American Soccer League in April.
