It's a test event of a different sort for VANOC on Wednesday.
There will be no smoke or fire, but the 2010 Winter Olympics torch will be paraded around the Fraser Valley from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
About 150 people will run with the torch amid a convoy of vehicles and police in the day-long dress rehearsal for the 45,000 kilometre, cross-Canada torch relay, which begins Oct. 30 in Victoria.
The route wasn't published, but VANOC said there will be brief, rolling road closures in Hope, Seabird Island, Harrison Hot Springs, Agassiz, Rosedale, Chilliwack and Abbotsford. The same communities will be visited Feb. 7 as the torch relay heads to the Feb. 12 opening ceremony at B.C. Place Stadium.
A news release said the procession would pass Chilliwack Spirit Square at 12:50 p.m. and Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre at 1:14 p.m.
