Unions | Professional Employees Association
The PEA is a labour union. Its constitution sets out similar objectives, and labour law gives it the same rights and obligations to represent its members in collective bargaining as apply to other labour unions in British Columbia.
The Professional Employees Association fills a unique niche by representing employed professionals working for various employers in British Columbia. PEA members are not only responsible to their employers, but often to professional associations or colleges and the public. The PEA understands the unique circumstances professionals face and reflects this through representation at work.
Like all unions, the PEA negotiates collective agreements for its members, setting out rates of pay, hours of work, and other employment terms. The PEA knows the importance of the work professionals do and the unique roles they fulfill.
Contact the PEA office if you have questions about joining a union or want more information. If you think you and your professional colleagues need more representation in the workplace it's time to find out how we can help.
