Legal Services | The Canadian Bar Association
8:30a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• This service is designed to assist the general public in finding the appropriate lawyer.
• Call the Lawyer Referral Service and explain your situation briefly to an operator who will then provide you with the name and telephone number of a lawyer.
• You arrange an appointment with that lawyer and mention that the Lawyer Referral Service referred you. The lawyer will give you up to a half hour interview for $25 (plus tax). This interview is to find out whether or not you have a legal problem. If you do have a legal problem and you would like to retain the lawyer, you may do so at the lawyer’s regular fee.
• If you decide not to hire the lawyer and wish to consult someone else, or if you are satisfied that you do not need further help, it won’t cost you any more than $25 (plus tax).
Lawyer Referral is a public service operated by the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association and funded by the Law Foundation of British Columbia.
