CC4BC evil union lovers

The point CC4BC makes about Dix insisting on paying union wages for a large work project in BC disturbs me. How is that a negative thing? Paying a livable wage to BC residents on a BC project seems like a good thing to me. The union employees will pay taxes, clothe and feed their families, buy cars and houses all in BC which is good for the economy right? Or does the CC4BC support bringing in people from foreign countries so they can pay them a dollar a day? To demonize someone for supporting unions is outrageous. Yes there is corruption in unions and yes there is a group of union members who take advantage of the system. You will find this problem in all organizations involving humans though: banks, politics, big and small businesses and even churches are not immune to human faults. Does this mean we should put our money under the mattress, not vote or stop going to church? No. Unions were started because factory owners paid low wages, worked employees long hours and in unsafe conditions all so they could make a larger profit. People fought hard and died so owners of large companies can't take advantage of the working person. I understand why company owners miss the old days, breaking unions has been a well funded right wing agenda for over a decade now but why is the regular person buying into this? We need unions now more than ever. I believe Adrian Dix should stand tall and proudly agree he supports fair wages and safe working conditions for everyone who lives in BC. Thank you Christine Meyers
