On September 28th, 2013, 07:00 PM the stage lights went on at the Presentation House Theatre in North Vancouver for a reading event of the WordStir Group. Jay Brazeau, Suzanne Ristic, Eileen Barrett, Linda Carson, and Jacques LaLonde presented extracts of plays, they are currently working on. The themes of these scripts ranged from Linda Carson's historical drama "Ruth Draper - For the Love of Freedom" and Jay Brazeau's play named "A Fortunate Son" (covering conflicts and relationships of three generations of fathers and sons) to Eileen Barrett's script about "Nandine Domestica", Suzanne Ristic's monologue "Poor", and Jacques LaLonde's autobiographic story "Stroke of Luck".
During the intermission and after the stage lights went out at 09:00 PM, the writers/actors were available for a Q&A with the audience.
This event showed what amazing talent is available in Vancouver. So, Vancouverites, if these plays are going to make their ways to the stages, go and see them. Support your local theatres and talent.
